     Research Interests:

 

  • The involvement of stress and the CRF system in human physiology and pathophysiology of stress-related and other disorders (with emphasis in reproductive and gastrointestinal systems).

  • Physiology and pathophysiology of endometrium, hormonal control, autocrine/paracrine regulatory mechanisms, decidualization, angiogenesis, immune control etc. and the formation of the foetalplacental unit.

  • The role of Gonadotropin Releasing Hormone (GnRH) and its receptors in the normal and malignant growth of the human endometrium.

  • Carcinogenesis and tumour markers of hormone-dependent malignancies and development of gene therapy technology for targeting hormone-dependent malignancies.

  • Autocrine/paracrine effects of opioid peptides in peripheral systems (endometrium, adrenals),

  • Molecular modelling of G-protein coupled receptors (GPCRs).

  • Clinical studies for new anticancer schemes.

  • Safe use of hazardous drugs.
