Learning outcomes Upon the completion of the course the students will be able to: (1) identify the different Phyla of the Animal Kingdom, (2) understand the basics of the body structure, anatomy, morphology, physiology and ethology of certain selected Phyla of the Animal Kingdom (Arthropoda, Nematoda, Mollusca, Annelida) with special emphasis on the Class Insecta, (3) indentify the most important from the agricultural perspective Insect Orders.
Exams Written exams at the end of the semester both on theoretical and practical courses. The students should also prepare an insect collection as a part of their practical training. The results of the written exams on the theoretical and practical part of the course as well as the evaluation of the practical task (the preparation of an insect collection) will contribute to the final grade as 80%, 15% and 5%, respectively. Supplementary literature sources will be available during the course through e-class. |
