About Me
I was born in Marousi of Attika (Athens) and brought up in a suburb of Athens, Agios Dimitrios. I had been living in beautiful Xanthi, where I worked and studied for almost 10 years. Currently, I have returned to my hometown where I work as a Free lancer R&D Engineer. My general interests and hobbies, apart from researching on Robotics, include cinema, theatre, travelling, politics, roll play gaming, playing table games, book reading, and hanging out with friends.
I love sketching and drawing, especially medieval and fantasy subjects, such as fairies, castles, epic warriors, wizards and dragons.
My main research interests are robotics and computer vision.
I have always been font of technical and robot science. So, after finishing high school, at the age of 17 (2000), I succeeded in the Greek National Examinations, mandatory for the importation to a University.
My graduate courses started in 2000 at the Department of Production and Management Engineering, Democritus University of Thrace.
I received my diploma degree from the Department of Production and Management Engineering, Democritus University of Thrace. My diploma thesis was "Data Fusion Techniques for Robot Navigation", and my advisor was Mr. Antonios Gasteratos.
After the fulfilment of my post graduate courses I decided to pursue a Phd degree in the field of Robot Vision Systems, under the supervision of Mr. Gasteratos.
I belonged to the Group of Robotics and Cognitive Systems, pursuing my Phd. I was a reviewer in numerous national conferences and Journals and a researcher in the European Projects RESCUER, ACROBOTER, ViewFinder and INFRA
I was announced as a Doctorate of the Democritus University of Thrace after
succeeding in my PhD (With Honors).
My PhD thesis is "Robotic Vision Systems for Target Identification and Tracking".
From Nov 2010 until Aug 2011 I fulfilled my military duties as a special scientist at the Supply and Transfer Division.
From Jan 2012 I work as an R&D Mechanical Engineer at iknowhow Informatics S.A.
