Garyfallos Arabatzis is Professor (2018-today) at the Department of Forestry and Management of the Environment and Natural Resources of Democritus University of Thrace. He teaches among others the following courses: Investments and Forest Resources Development, Green ?entrepreneurship and Innovation, Regional Development, Forest Valuation and Accounting, Land Use Planning, Financial Management. Garyfallos has a wide spectrum of research interests, with truly multidisciplinary nature. Most of his research analyses elements of Forest, Rural and Regional Development, Forest Economics, Forest Valuation and Accounting, and the impacts of CAP in the Regional Economy. However, part of his recent work also looks into elements of Socio-Economic Evaluation of RES, Operational Research and Natural Resources, Green Finance and Development, and Investment Appraisal. He has published over 200 articles in international and Greek journals and proceedings. More specifically, 100 articles are published in international journals (mainly in top-tier journals) such as: Forest Policy and Economics, Energy Policy, Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, Business Strategy and the Environment, Journal of Informetrics, Journal of Environmental Management, Annals of Operations Research, Computers and Operations Research. Reviewer in 54 international journals such as: Land Use Policy, Energy Policy, Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, Energy Economics, Environmental Monitoring and Assessment, Journal of Environmental Management. Member of the Editorial Board of journal “Current Trends in Forest Research” and “Sustainability” Senior researcher in 22 projects and coordinator in 2. The total impact factor of his work is more than 400. His work has been cited more than 4,500 times (information from Google Scholar, h-index=37) and 2,900 times (information from SCOPUS, h-Index=32). In recent years, Professor Garyfallos Arabatzis has been included in the top 2% of scientists of the Stanford University list.
