George N. Botzoris is Associate Professor for the Section of Transportation Engineering of Democritus University of Thrace (Xanthi, Greece), where he has been teaching since 2008. He has also taught as Adjacent Lecturer at the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of Thessaly, (Volos, Greece) (2005-2008).

He holds the Diploma of Civil Engineering, M.Sc. in Business Administration and Ph.D. in Transportation.

His research interests include travel behavior analysis and modeling, analysis and forecast of transport demand, transport economics and feasibility methods, public transport planning and policy, traffic analysis and management, intelligent transport systems, sustainable mobility and effects of transport activities on the environment.

He has participated in a number of transport studies, traffic studies, feasibility studies, organization and management studies, airport master plans, and railway track designs.

He is co-author of three books and of six chapters in edited volumes.

He has written to this day over 180 scientific papers that have been published in scientific journals as well as conference proceedings.
