George N. Botzoris is a Professor in the Section of Transportation at Democritus University of Thrace (Xanthi, Greece), where he has been teaching since 2008.
He served as the Director of the Transportation Section from 2020 to 2022 and has been the Director of the Transportation and Spatial Planning Laboratory since 2021.
Previously, he taught as an Adjunct Lecturer at the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of
Thessaly (Volos, Greece) from 2005 to 2008.
He holds a Diploma of Civil Engineering, an M.Sc. in Business Administration and a Ph.D. in Transportation.
His research interests include travel behavior analysis and modeling, transport demand analysis and forecasting, transport economics and feasibility studies, public transport policy and planning, traffic analysis, management and safety, intelligent transport systems, sustainable mobility, and the environmental impacts of transport activities.
He has participated in numerous transport studies, traffic studies, feasibility studies, organization and management studies, airport master plans, and railway track designs projects.
He is the (co-)author of two books, three textbooks, and six chapters in edited volumes.
To date, he has (co-)authored over 200 scientific papers published in scientific journals and conference proceedings.
