SUPERVISIONSupervision of seven (7) PhD Theses, two (2) of which have already been successfully completed. One of the three-member advisory committee for fifteen (15) additional PhD Theses, eight (8) of which have been successfully completed. Supervision of three (3) MSc Dissertations that have been successfully completed Examiner in more than twenty (20) PhD Theses (at Democritus University, University of Athens, University of Crete, Panteion University, University of Macedonia) and ten (10) MSc Dissertations. RESEARCH INTERESTS – EXPERTISEHis main areas of research interests and publications are in the fields of political economy of social policy, economic inequality, income distribution and redistribution, poverty and social exclusion, intergenerational consequences of inequality, distributional impact of government policies, macroeconomic environment and social protection, functional and personal distribution of income. A significant part of his published work focuses on the comparative analysis of economic inequality and poverty between Mediterranean and EU countries and between welfare regimes. He has participated and coordinated a large number of research projects in the above fields. His work has been published in books, research monographs, articles, book chapters and research reports, and has been presented in many conferences. Also short articles and interviews on issues related to inequality, poverty, social policy and economic crisis have been published in the Greek and foreign press.
